Tech Tour, Europe’s largest community of technology entrepreneurs and investors, is coming to Estonia. The event will bring the industry’s top investors together with carefully pre-selected DeepTech and DefenceTech companies. Happening in Tallinn on October 3rd and 4th, the event will include 10+ Estonian companies among 40 high-potential startups and feature keynotes and presentations from:

Kristen Michal, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia
Allan Martinson, Estonian Founders Society
Ahti Heinla, Starship Technologies
Tero Vauraste, ICEYE
Eugene Yakovlev, Skyeton
William Stevens, Tech Tour Europe

According to the Estonian Minister of Economy and Industry Erkki Keldo, who will be opening the event, the arrival of Tech Tour in Estonia is an important sign of the strength of Estonia’s business environment. “As a country, we also contribute to the development of DeepTech and DefenceTech by investing in the defence fund created for SmartCap,” said Keldo, underlining the country’s commitment to ramping up investments and innovation in defence technology.

Tech Tour Deeptech & Defence 2024 partners with Startup Estonia and Invest Estonia. According to Eve Peeterson, Head of Innovation and Startup Services at Enterprise Estonia, all participating companies have the potential to change their field fundamentally. “Despite the difficult global economic conditions, Estonian startups remain strong and competitive. Most startups are looking for capital to develop new products and services, including R&D and expansion into new markets. Bringing Tech Tour’s international community of investors to Estonia is a good example of how Startup Estonia helps startups with one of the most difficult challenges – finding an investor and attracting investment,” said Peeterson.

Estonian Founders Society President Allan Martinson commented: “Estonian startup entrepreneurs have global markets in mind from day one. Oftentimes they achieve a lot with very limited resources. That is why I’m very optimistic – we have a really strong foundation. I see how people love to attack new problems, then persevere.”

Estonian companies featured at the event include Myceen, PowerUP Fuel Cells, Spacedrip, UP Catalyst, Nanordica Medical, Lendurai, KWOTA, Hepta Insights, and GScan. During the two-day Tech Tour programme in Tallinn, this hand-picked lineup of global-minded companies will introduce their products and services to multiple high-level industry investors at the same time. This, as noted by the head of Invest Estonia, Joonas Vänto, is a great opportunity for companies to boost fundraising. “Estonia has consistently shown that our size does not limit our impact. Such attention from investors from Europe and beyond is recognition of the country’s commitment to developing truly world-changing technology,” said Vänto.
